So much has happened over the last 2 weeks...

Only  a Lunatic would knit a blanket
 That’s what my mom says every time I point out a lovely knitted blanket on line. This is where I should point out that I have in my possession 1 knitted blanket in a garter chevron pattern made from Redheart super saver in the colorway Mexicali.  I’ll give you 3 guesses who knit it but I’m sure you only need one. My Mom KNIT me this blanket when I was a toddler

Any who – 2 weeks ago I came accords this lovely pattern on Ravelry for this blanket called The Flora Blanket. It’s a free Pattern by EweKnit Toronto. It can be found here. Free Flora Blanket Pattern

I fell in love right away and maybe 2 hours later I had it cast on. It’s made 1 square at a time. They use double pointed needles but I can’t start out knitting on just 8 stitches on 4 DPN’s so I chose to start out on a long circular and then transfer to DPN’s and then when I was up to 96 stitches I switched 20 a 23 inch circular to finish it off. The end result is nothing short of stunning. I used La Mia Merino in a pale lavender, a pale grey,  and a pale pinky peachy color.  What do you guys think?

In other news. I waited 2 weeks for  my first ever loom to come from EBay – After 3 days of trying I gave up and returned it and purchased a basic frame look with a heddle. I’m playing with a BOHO wall hanging for a baby girl nursery. Isn’t this the cutest? I have a small Fairy applique I’m going to put on the top center and add little pink ribbons as well.

I gave up on writing a pattern for fingerless mitts in sock weight yarn – I’ve realized pattern writing just isn’t for me. I flogged the mitt I had started and am making my first pair of tall socks ever (well aside from Jay’s bed socks out of Lion brand Mandela. Now that I think about it; I DID write that pattern.
